I received an interesting message from someone asking why I don’t call it what it is – ‘spending’ and suggested influencers use the word investment to justify their spending. On some level, I agree. Watching this back, I don’t think I explained why I used the term ‘investment’ as opposed to shopping or spending very well.
Spending, to me, sounds like a frivolous and easy experience. At times I can overthink a lot when shopping, so it isn’t necessarily as simple as spending. When I buy something, I’m putting my money into a brand/item with the expectation of a worthwhile result. Although investment can mean financial gain, we invest in things in other ways; in this case, it’s the future of my wardrobe and the hope of gaining something long term. I feel like I’m bordering on the psychoanalysis of my shopping experience, BUT I hope that makes sense.
I apologise if I missed off any shoes that would have been useful to feature. I COMPLETELY missed off Birkenstocks, which I 100% love and recommend. Maybe I’ll feature them somewhere in another video đ

Ohhhh I'll take the Prada shoes off you đđđ For real though this was such a nice informative video to watch! I just randomly got recommended this and it felt so relevant to me as I've just gone through and spent a LOT of my savings on 'investment' pieces myself.. Haha! I've been dyyying for the Prada Monolith Derby shoe since I saw it on some girl's instagram last year but have had absolutely no luck in finding them in my size. I nearly bought a 'dupe' pair but I felt like it was better to save my money for the real thing. What can I say, I'm a bit of a 'brand wh*re'. I also got really excited when you mentioned your birthday was in May!! You must be a Taurus. The caring and extensive way you speak of these investments just proves it to me! As a fellow Taurus who takes great pride in my material possessions, especially my clothes, I say thank you for sharing your insight! At least now I know what to expect from the Prada Monolith (if I ever do get around to buying them…) I have quite a broad frame, especially in my shoulders, so I love to balance it out with giant shoes. I'm a big fan of chunky rave boots from the 90s especially, they look so dynamic and original! Definitely harder to style then a regular black shoe though.
Yess! A trainers video would be so good! Love your videos! Especially the length â€ïž
Try a foot silk spray with the sandals
YES i love this. can't wait for the next video on trainers!!
Yes sneakers next!!
Do one about your coats pleaseeeeee
Which one of the Dr Martens are the ones you wear? The links show three different ones. Thank you. âșïž
the whole time I was stressing out over you touching the soles LOL
The Dr Martenâs were the best for me – style, quality and value!
I feel like what Brittany dislikes about the Lemaire shoes is not due to quality, but simply to the model and to the thinness of the leather ?
What do you think about Blundstone? đ
(Bear my English, I'm sorry) I've been following you on Instagram for quite some time but had never watched your channel before, I really liked this video (and series) and hope you will make more, I thought it was very helpful. !
I did sat a hour (without snacks) listening to you talking about shoes and thought it very interesting. I especially liked all the efforts you've put into the review itself and the informations you gave: the brand, the price, where/how you made the purchase, the style, the cut, the fit, the parts with the styled videos and your voice over, if you think it is a classic, a trend, the value for money, how much you've been wearing the piece and if you would repurchase if lost or stolen (you've added this one for the other ones in the series). There were really good reviews because there were going much further than a simple "I love them, they're so pretty" and that's rare. I really appreciated this debate with yourself and thinking in terms of reasoned purchases. And also the fact that you are very lucid an honest about it all.
I love how much detail u go into. I did agree with the clown shoes,, Iâve just started to âinvestâ a bit more in my wardrobe, so this is very useful cause Iâve made some awful choices.
Very interesting, and still useful. I was drinking wine while watching. đ
it is amazing how many of these descriptions suit relationships lol
"i got the ick", ''is it worth the energy if it's not happening naturally?", "i love to hate it, I hate to love it", "what was I thinking?"
Please do more of these series đđ
I just today made a comment in wanting a shoe video and here it is, You have and I have found it. Yay! đ
Iâve been rewatching this video over 10 times. This is the best review you can find. Thank you â€ïž Very helpful, made me decide on the row sandals. I also found a waaaay better alternative to Chanel sandals, The Row Hook and Loop sandals. And I can honestly say they are the most comfortable shoes in the world worth every penny.
I work as a doctor in the obgyn-field so I suppose that makes me a part of the middle class, I own a house and have a somewhat stable economy I guess. But I could still never put 1400 pounds for 2 pairs of flip flops. Can I ask what you work with? Just curious. Thank you. (I do enjoy my Dr Martins though..!)
WOW,thanks for sharing , I order the same one from replicaclubs..ru three months ago, shipped by Fedex, amazing quality !!!!!
i love watching these because i can actually discover your very cute personality, you made me laugh so many times!!
(as opposed to your Instagram, which I love, but still – it's only pictures)
I want to get the ginza sandals.how would you say the sizing is like ? P.s love your videos !
omg feeling âlike a clownâ in prada derbys is exactly what i felt when i got eytys baccarat shoes (basically super square toe platform loafers), they were not even bending while walking đ„Čđ„Čđ„Č surely looked cool on pictures, but i returned them immediately
Hi do you still use the prada monolith or how have you found them since filming this video? Thank you
Massive shoe fan here to say that I am thoroughly engaged by your doctoral lecture on the highs and lows of a life with shoes. When you came to the Pradaâs and were voicing doubts, I got it. But when you showed how you styled them with slim trousers and a boxy blazer, thatâs when little red needle of my satisfaction gage hit the roof. KEEPâMâŒïž
Bought the Ginza recently and had to return. The toe piece dug in so badly, horrible construction decision there. Would love an update to this for this summer to see if you feel the same about these now.
love your videos and wonder if you can make a video talking about the row items clothes and everything you have and your reviews on them
iâve had my dmâs for 5 years and they were limited edition museum collection that i bought for 70$ and the only thing i regret is that i bought only one pair((( cause even my mom steals them
Love the black shoes! favourite are the black boots and black slip on heel shoes!
I love your videos and subscribed to you. Your coat review video also helped me a lot! I am currently looking to purchase a fall coat.
you mentioned that you think you're too short for the prada shoes – how tall are you?
Kourtney kardashisn wears them and sheâs short .
Just got around to listening/watching this and Iâm enjoying the insight. Especially the confession that some purchases are more about being caught up in a style or seeing a trend and watching to be a part of it regardless of how it clashes with personal style. Gives me lots or think about with my own buying!
Did you keep your monolith derbyâs?
If you are a 37 would you consider selling?
Please do one on trainers <3 love xox

I would say you invest in good style, that elevates you, gives you job opportunities and more confidence. And it isnât always pleasant to go shopping! In fact I am unemployed because of health problems, so I couldnât focus on shopping, had to invest in health. But i got the dr. Martens mono last winter and okay 200 euro but I am wearing them every single day, they still look stunning and all outfits are good with them. When I am back in the game my spendings will be high on clothes because I better like a very good coat then 10 bad, what I have at the moment. At least I go 2 nd hand shooping!
