Decluttering FAILED, I Can't Let Go| least used luxury minimalist wardrobe chanel hermes kelly

Hi everyone, I’m Eileen. I often speak about how liberating minimalism is, and how decluttering has changed my life. All that is still true, but I’m far from being the perfect luxury minimalist. In this video, I shared my least used designer bags and fine jewelry pieces. In the ideal world, I should have sold these pieces. The truth is however, I’m struggling to let them go for one reason for the other. Some people might think I’ve failed at decluttering or minimalism, but I’ve decided I don’t have to push myself too hard. Not letting go sometimes is an act of intentionality too, do you agree? xx

  1. Interesting to hear your diskussion. With my own collection I don’t agree; if I don’t use an item or has losen interest for it; I get rid of it. I only have items in my collection that I use and love. /Marie from Sweden

  2. I use my coin purse for wired earphones and usb cables for the batteries I carry. 🙂

  3. That’s great that you are reflecting on the items in your collection. I think you should keep the LV coin purse because of its novelty. You can also use it for earbuds or any other kind of small items.

  4. I Will keep everything you showed. Maybe its time to use everything…not only for special ocassions..been alive is a special ocassion…you should use your beautiful things..and you Will remember why you bought them in the first place.

  5. Lady Eileen… You work so long for what you have…keep and enjoy. You worth it🎁🌸

  6. I love my Chanel classic flap bags and I would never sell them. I plan to gift them to my daughter when I pass. I also wear the same Hermes earrings often because they are low key. I wear my VCA Vintage Alhambra bracelets almost daily and I love it so much ☺️ I still have my Tiffany rings and I’m so glad I do. I sold one of the Tiffany eternity rings and some Chanel bags in the past and I regret it now.

  8. You are the perfect luxury minimalism. The secret is to balance it. You are en example of enjoying nice things and to be a minimalist ! Keep going!

  9. Please keep things that you are questioning. I am older than you are. I have discovered that my taste has changed over the years. You may decide in a few years that these lovely things in your collection will be things that you reach for as you get older. It certainly happened to me! Life changes and what you have put aside now, you will appreciate down the road, especially with classic pieces.
I love your videos. Thank you for such great content!

  10. Eileen I will be keeping all the items you showed us. I think when you get older your lifestyle is once more going to change and then you will have the opportunity to wear all the items mentioned.

  11. Hi.
Why do you always say “pieces”?
It’s just consumable items, just an expensive handbag or accessories
    I know it’s very expensive
Why can’t you just say “handbag” or “items”
I like your channel but I don’t get it

  12. What you have are worth keeping, Eileen. Your reasons are sound, practical and logical. I also have heirloom jewelry that I didn't care to keep years back but for some reasons I couldn't explain, didn't sell them and was ok to keep them in a safe place, forgotten until recently. After having them appraised by a prominent auction house, they're now considerably more valuable today than they were when I got them & they will continue to be even more so in the years to come. I listened to my "inner voice" when it told me not to let them go at that time just because I didn't need them & I am happy that I listened & still kept them. I consider the decisions of keeping something long term as investments even if I don't have any emotional attachments to some of them, like the jewelry & some paintings I am no longer "in love" with, but they still are beautiful works of art. They are still (monetarily) valuable to me & they will be even more valuable to others who treasure collecting what I have more than I do.

  13. Agree 😊👍🏻

  14. Watch out that you downsize too much, you may have later an empty nest feeling 🤭 which might result in a frantic shopping spree.

You could use the coin purse to store headphones or carry a necklace or so when travelling! 🙂 I do this all the time with round coin purses

  16. Yes, please keep the pcs u mentioned. Enjoy them my lady. ✨❤️✨😘😘😘Sandy

  17. Every pieces you still have, have been thoroughly weighed and it makes sense to keep them all until you are certain you want to let them go. The lv coin purse could be used as a headphone holder, etc and you could wear the VCA bracelet as a necklace for versatility.

  18. I think you should definitely keep those handbags. They are classic. Will never go out of style and their price keeps going up.

Could you please not use the music? Your voice is clear and easy to listen to and that background music is not needed. 🙂

  19. Hi Eileen. You make very good points. For me, I know that once I move on from a bag I never go back. I may carry it one more time for a week but then it goes back in the closet. I know this about myself and I’ve been this way my whole life whether the bag cost a little or a lot. So I know I won’t regret letting something go. I, too, wonder if in the future the mini bags will be out of trend and I’ll miss my traditional sized bags but I love the freedom of carrying only my phone, keys, and cards and I doubt I’ll ever want to go back to carrying “everything and the kitchen sink.”

  20. Yes Please keep the Chanel Classic flap as it is a classic bag and will not be dated in 20 years or more. I really wish i got a new one years ago when it was more affordable and easier to get. I have vintage ones and a 2020 one which I do not plan to sell 🙂

  21. I'd sell most of the things I just never used. But the small Chanel bag is such an elegant evening bag I doubt I'd part with it. Not owning it, I would not pay even what you paid for it. There are too many non-status, quality leather bags that are available for a fraction of the luxury brand cost.

  22. I think what happened here is that after decluttering the items that really didn't work out for you, you are now left with the items that you really enjoy as well as those that you would have enjoyed in a different time and situation. So there's really no hurry to declutter them, the time to enjoy them will eventually come. And when it's really time to let go of them, you will know it and declutter them without a second thought.

  23. I believe everyone has forever items that are keepers. Thank you for sharing. You look so elegant today 💖

  24. I sold a lot of Chanel bags several years ago because I didn’t like having too much stuff. Regret it today because lifestyle changes. Now I like a mix of small and big bags. Especially when I want to carry a book or magazine to read while waiting for something and also need my reading glasses. Sometimes a light summer shawl if going to an outdoor concert. So I wish I was not so hasty about selling those. Now I cannot afford to get another Chanel small classic. Diamond eternity band (non branded) is my favourite as it has lots of sparkle and does not get caught in anything like my other rings with a top. Cash payment is still present in many parts of the world and I may slow down travel based on life but never to a full stop…I have travelled all my life until the pandemic and of all the things to give up, travelling for work, pleasure or volunteering is one that will always be a part of me. So need good shoes, bags and simple jewellery for that. Glad you didn’t sell your Hermes 28:)

  25. I agree with your decisions. We must not forget that minimalism is personalised to every individual. We can sometimes feel pressured to get rid of stuff to fit in with another person’s idea of minimalism then experience regret for letting go of items that we truly love despite not using them often.
Personalisation of minimalism is important. There has to be joy in minimalism. If someone chooses to have 100 pairs of earrings because they love earrings & choose to be minimal with other items, e.g. have one handbag & 1 pair of shoes. It’s the person’s choice because this is what fits their lifestyle & enjoyment.

  26. I appreciate your being honest about how is hard to get rid of some items! Great video ❤️

  27. You are very smart to really think before selling a bag and to consider your tastes may change as you get older. I am older than you and I have a rule if I want a new bag I sell a bag. However, I have had regrets about selling a few of my bags. I sold my Medium coco handle a few yrs ago as I thought it was too big and wanted the small (old mini size). However this year I realized I need a larger bag to actually carry more things. Ending up buying the same size again but this time in the quilted leather (previous was chevron) and this one has leather lining which I prefer. I have learned that I need Bags in various sizes to meet my needs. Plus I feel the demand for true mini bags will eventually fade.

  28. So glad you decided to keep your Kelly!

  29. I was going to say if you do not want to resell or issues with resell..I was going to suggest giving it to your daughter for a family heirloom. That way they can repurpose it in some way or form!

I have to be honest. I am an user of designer reps. I am in love with the bags from bagreps.com Bags are really superb quality and price friendly for us. And ths shipping is so fast.

  31. I think you are the perfect minimalist. You enjoy having the small collection of items you currently owned. To me being a minimalist doesn’t mean you have to declutter everything and it’s more about being mindful with your spending and enjoying the items you have.
    Love your channel perspective.

  32. I feel you on the full round Tiffany diamond band, and that's why I wear half round diamond bands! I don't like the feel of the stones and claws between my fingers!!😳

  33. just out of curiosity, is VCA's rose gold close to Hermes'? I recently purchased a VCA piece in rose gold and found its color to be quite different from all my other rose gold jewelry and I never own any rose gold piece from Hermes. So curious to know how they compare to each other — thanks!

  34. We want to declutter but it's difficult to let go of status symbols that perhaps, well, we don't want to admit we love having;)

  35. Hi Eileen, Beeing a minimalism is not take away what you have. For this period of time, I would suggest you to keep them but stop buy things. You are lucky to have them. You don't need to be perfect. You deserve what you have and enjoy them. You are a good person.

  36. As to the fashion luxury bags. Really great quality and lowest price I have ever seen.. the website @ xguci.com Above level of all other seller

  37. I totally agree with your decision to keep these items. It’s obvious that you aren’t ready to detach from them and you are still young, there is plenty of time for your lifestyle and fashion style to change several times. I have certainly found that it happens in life and life would be pretty dull if it didn’t.
When people on social media say that everyone has a bag and it’s getting too common I think you need to take that with a grain of salt. What they usually mean is that everyone on YouTube and Instagram has one. But I have found that out in the real world this is usually not the case. The number of Chanel bags I have seen outside of the boutiques is 4 and one of those is mine and none of them were flap bags.

I think said it right – you’re following your heart. There’s nothing wrong with that. ❤️

  39. I really appreciate you make so many informative videos and not just unboxings, for me it’s just the fact that prices are taking a turn where I don’t feel it’s worth to buy canvas anymore so my solution will be to buy leather LV bags @ lvcuy.com . Totally worth it !

  40. Your skin are getting shinning now. Would like to see you make an video on how much and where I bought it from collection. I alway buy from xsreps.com That's a price friendly and really great service store for me.

  41. I think you have solid reasons for keeping those items and it’s always all right to go slow with decluttering. As Lillian Too says about decluttering your home, if you’re considering your items every six months, it’s all right to set it aside and consider it again next time.

  42. I love your videos. As a noveau luxury consumer myself, it was amazing to come across your content early on, rather than later.

  43. Great. Happy to see that. I want to do a list of my bags from xsreps.com bags from there are really amazing and their sevice are really great.

  45. Be glad you didn’t sell items you love and paid a lot for … imo this decluttering trend will lead only to more long term consumption. People let go of items they actually want, often at a bad price, and will repurchase at full price later

  46. My first luxury is xsreps.com at 2020. After that, I can't stop buying from that store. It's addicting.

  47. I feel you! I have the same on my Celine Classic Box Bag as I really love the simple yet elegant style. However, I haven’t reached it for almost two years as I find it heavy when I put my daily essentials in. I’m not sure why because I usually don’t attach to bags.

  48. Wonderful video, I'm glad you shared it &wish you'd done so sooner. I appreciate the honesty and found this to be more relatable. Your Hermès & Chanel bags and T&CO ring are Certainly keepers if it was up to me. You have such Beautiful things … so Not let go until you are Certain. Hope you are having a Wonderful Summer. 💯💕🌼🌺🌻
