Make MAJOR ALTERATIONS to the jewel stores entrance/exit doors. Whereby any/all customers – MUST pass through some metal/gun detectors @ the INITIAL entrance door – stay in that space for a few seconds (watched on CCTV) prior to you (the store) releasing the entry through the 2nd door (controlled via a button situated at the counter). Best the customers came in UNHOODED; one (perhaps two) at a time – NOT in sets of 3 plus, as staff will be outnumbered.
Many banks in certain parts of the world function in this manner, as well.
A VIGIL security guard (during hours of operation) based at the main external door maybe pertinent.
Preferably glass, bullet proof doors, external windows to the street. At night … rolled-down metal shutters. This may (hopefully) cease/discourage the "would be robbers" as they cannot grab/smash glass encasements" with their bare hands⁉️🤷
