  1. Be sure to let me know what your favorite Reacher fight scene is. Also, let me know if there is another show/movie that you want me to react to.

  2. Hm. Yes. As a medical professional (I push stretchers), I highly agree that eye-gouging and Face-to-sink strikes are highly effective and particularly traumatic. 2/3-view x-rays and non-contrast CT's seem warranted considering patient got the absolute shit kicked out of them in a prison bathroom. As a non-MD, who are you paging? Ortho? Plastics?

  3. I watched the Reacher series and thoroughly enjoyed it…. But as we all know it’s television…. All you so-called analysts out there really need to get a life and accept that it’s not real….. In case you were unaware these people are called ACTORS!!!!!… Oh and FYI… prison fights never go down like that…all 5 of those guys and more would have jumped him at the same time not one at a time

  4. Something about the way you move makes me think you've had some training yourself, Doctor…Boxer, Karateka? Inquiring minds want to know! And not to be "that guy", but Reacher was an Army Major, not a "Marine Warrant Officer"…
    EXCELLENT, educational video!

  5. Enjoyed your commentary. I have all of the fixations in my right ankle that you explained. Some how my big is still the main source of my the pain I still have daily. Injury 2008.

  6. Outstanding informative video, Doc! Glad I happened upon your channel. Having previously watched the Jack Reacher films, and recently discovered clips from the Reacher streaming television show, having an analysis of the types of injuries resulting from his style of fighting is extremely enlightening. Glad someone out there is willing to do more than just "ooh and ahh" their way through this form of entertainment.

  7. Makes me wonder how long Reacher could last against the Death Row Convicts from Baki.

Delivered with just the right sense of humour to suit me. Fantastic video!

  9. Very informative and entertaining!

  10. The uppercut, looks more like a palm heel strike to me. The damage would be similar but greater with this strike. Great video though. 1 problem I have is turning his back on the guys carrying knives.

  11. Great video.
I think Reacher was a military police Major before he left the Army, although he got busted down to Lieutenant a couple times, too.
Mostly because of the fights he got into trying to maintain order among drunken Army soldiers.
    And officers.
I don't recall that he was ever a Warrant Officer, at least in the Lee Child novels.
I don't recall that Reacher ever made Lieutenant Colonel or Colonel during his commissioned tour.
He got busted down to Captain and occasionally down to Lieutenant in a few instances.
Majors in the Army are O-4s. Captains are O-3. Lieutenants are O-2.
Don't recall him getting busted down to First Lieutenant, however.
    Also keep in mind?
Reacher was actually kicked off his high school football team, too.
    Why?
    Because he was TOO VIOLENT.
Since violence is basically what football is really all about?
He had to be pretty brutal on the field to get kicked off the team for being too violent.
    Just saying.
I liked the other prison fight scene where another gang of idiots thought they could take Reacher out IN HIS CELL.
    Huge mistake.
    And a great fight scene.
Also the fight scene outside his hotel room, where he told the gang that tried to jump him that he hoped one of them knew where the nearest hospital was.
The last guy Reacher left standing?
Was like "I know where the nearest hospital is."
Thus avoiding getting his ass kicked in the process, too.
(I've seen several clips of the Amazon Prime series.
But Prime isn't really affordable right now, so I didn't get to see the whole first season yet.
Glad they renewed it for a second season.
Maybe if the DVD set isn't too extravagantly priced, I'll pick it up.
    Whenever it comes out.)

  12. Damn, trauma from such events is rather extensive. I am cringing through every description of trauma.

  13. "Generally not desirable", a rather subtle understatement. Lol.

  14. I appreciate your help in understanding of these things. And I think that the stunt men earned their money

  15. Excellent video, though he was Army, not Marines. 👍🏻😎

  16. Only moderately gruesome. Thanks… I guess. 🖒🤠

  17. I love your explanations of the injuries involved. Also since I do not inherently possess the inherent overwhelming force of Jack Reacher I will utilize Force multipliers such as firearms in any similar confrontations.

  18. I really liked ower guest! Hope we can have more in the future!

  19. The thumb in the eye made me a little nauseous. Not gonna lie.

  20. In layman’s terms, the bad guys got the living ** beaten out of them.

  21. Just a heads up Doc..Reacher is Army..Not a Jarhead

My favorite scene is the prison cell scene.

  23. Loved the video!
Yeah, Reacher ruined their health fundamentally I'd say.
I'd like to hear your insight on the fight between Batman, and Bane from the third installment of the Dark Knight series (TDKR).
I'm wondering if Bane actually broke Bruce's back, and if Bruce would actually have been able to come back like he did in the movie.
Less, it was not a total spine fracture, but maybe just a nasty contusion along his back that equated a very nasty back ache from which he would still be able to over one with time and healing?

  24. A few years ago, I was robbed by an "ambush" mugger. One hit with something like a sock full of sand that I never saw coming. Broken nose, eye trauma, extreme emotional trauma. You don't recover from things like that…ever. 6 hours in the emergency room as in Newark, NJ, I was a low priority. I was not bleeding and was conscious. IOP of 85 in my left eye for about 8 hours. Never recovered full vision in that eye. Other people in the room had gunshot wounds, stab wounds one had been stabbed in the eye. I was fortunate to be in an urban trauma center. The care was was as good as any available in the U.S.

  25. Yo doc – know your instruments. A shiv is a homemade stabbing weapon. To shank is a verb.

  26. I would also point out that the level of medical care available to inmates at both the state and federal level mean that many of the procedures the doctor talked about will be done as cheaply as possible. Additionally, due to a lack of due diligence, in my opinion, some of Jack reacher‘s victims have a chance of dying as their chest or skull won’t be immediately subjected to MRI and other appropriate medical imaging. Doc, what do you think ?

  27. Man I love the tutor roll but you missed one thing in the bathroom fight when the guy we're in reach your picked I have been throwing up against the wall They had a little coat rack where he hit him and his spine hit that little thing off of the wall

  28. The algorithm gods directed me to your video. This is a category I didn't know existed.
I already subscribed. Looking forward to more of your work.

  29. I usually feel that lots of editing can come off as corny, but this was some really great editing along with a great breakdown of the injuries. Great video!!

  30. Are you kidding? Don't you have something better to do than react to a Reacher TV show fight? Is business so slow or are you that much in need of attention????? Get some help!

  31. spectacular, simple, clear dissertation. Nice

  32. You’re awesome Doc.

  33. Imagine getting a nematic nail gut nail going into your eye an how much damage it can do. Well I had that happen to me in 1990 an was lucky that the eye lid purvented the eye fluid from leaking out.

  34. Awesome video, keep it up 👏🙏

  35. And then the director says “ cut”

  36. Gained a subscriber Doc.
    Great information.
Had several of the facial injuries you discussed here over the decades of playing hockey and judo.

  37. Made me laugh…

  38. Thanks Doc. Icing on the cake of a great series!
