  1. That was a good one sir! 😊👍

  2. As one who flies fighters for a living this was actually really interesting to me. To hear a Drs opinion on it. We all know it would be BRUTAL. And the people I've spoken to who have done it have confirmed this.
    Hope I never have to!
For the record I trust my life to the excellent ACES II seat!
Edit again after watching the whole thing: yea I shouldn't have watched this…

  3. 7:37 – good explanation here – mine is an L1 burst fracture… the compression along the spine caused L1 to basically explode into little pieces…

Me: i need to sleep. Got work tomorrow
Dr. Raynor: ahh, yes, but what if you had to eject out of a supersonic plane?

  5. Pilot is just one position. There are several other flying positions that have ejection seats. Aircrew is a better term.
The word around community for my jet was that taking the "boom & silk elevator" was correlated with about a 1" permanent loss in height.(2.5 cm for the metric crowd.)
Given that the device used to get us out of the jet was a small coffee can filled with black powder…

  6. That was an amazing video!

  7. You said (he) was doing 202 Knotts when crashed. That F-35 pilot that crashed on the carrier was a woman, biological, XX chromosome.

  8. A great combination of two of my three favourite topics. Cheers!

  9. No shit an ejection seat will save your life, it’s better than crashing and burning alive.

The seat has a good probability of snapping your neck. Especially in early tech. Now the helmets and suits are pulled back from what I know.

  10. More channels should hold themselves to the standard you hold yours to. The quality of the information presented here is excellent, and every time you directly cite a source it makes me smile, and I’m sure I’m far from the only one.
This, everyone, is the gold standard to which to hold your information-source channels.

  11. There's an old rhyme about ejection seats: Meet your maker in a Martin-Baker!

So is it standard procedure for pilots who eject to get CT scans or something to check for spinal injures? Or do they just wait to for them to say, "my back hurts doc?"

    Tier1 Dr. Raynor. Bravo 👏 👏 👏

Edit* 13:33 my dad had this operation – over 50years later and he's still hiking over mountains with a canoe on his shoulders, thanks to skilled orthos like yourself.
    Thank you.

  15. Mr Dr. Chris Raynor nice to see you man! Wish all the best for u man! God bless u man!

  16. too bad theres not some kind
    of AIRBAG arrangement to counter
some of these forces… like to support
the neck from whipping fwd/bk or
to contain the limbs from flailing

  17. I would love to hear your thoughts on on marq Marquez high side in moto GP and the effects of landing like that

  18. Love your stuff Doc

  19. this video is a fkin banger wow

  20. A big shot out to all the researchers who study all this to help save our pilot's lives and to the Dr's who finish the job after they get back to the ground!

  21. Doctor, this channel is a great idea!

  22. LOVE THE EDITS AND CLIPS….I figured the ejection process would be terrifying but didn't think it would be this bad

  23. You get more than that from martin baker. My friend gets deals on safes, watches, etc. etc. Martin Baker has an exclusive club. He got a letter in the mail saying he was X person to eject with a Martin Baker seat when he ejected from his F4 over Germany.

  24. You the man btw Chris! Really enjoying your videos

  25. Watch with subtitles on lmao.

  26. Broke: Martin-Baker ejection seat
    Woke: Project Whoosh
    Bespoke: Yeet seat

The jet has been recovered now. Some guys I served with back in the day are still in and was part of the recovery I think it was last week or couple weeks ago.

  28. Hello, can you analyze Ashita no Joe fights?!

  29. Unrelated please do a review of chiropractor Dr. Ace from So Cal Chiropractic. I mean this guy can basically cure cancer with a neck adjustment. You should absolutely love it

  30. How do you not have more subscribers? These videos are top!
