Farfetch'd Battle Trials! | Pokemon Journeys Episode 51 Review!

I really liked this episode, it was awesome, gets a 9/10 by me, the major flaw would be how ash was ranked so quickly in the WCS, like I get that he's strong but come on m8. I can already imagine LTZ making the, “wait is this the Kalos league” meme.

Kamonegi FINALLY gets a battle. Really like Rinto, He'll be a new rival to ash and kamonegi which is really good.

Where was dracovish in the first scene tho?

This is Best episode of journeys so far, I like it very much!!!! I also give it to 9/10.

This episode makes me think if each of Ash's Pokemon will have an individual development arc, which is what happened in sun and moon.

God Rowlett had a rivalry with hau's decidui
Ash's incineraor had one with kukui's incineraor
Ash's dusk Lycanroc with gladion's midnight Lycanroc
Pikachu with tapukoko
Nebbie (basically solgaleo and not the earlier cosmog and middle form evolutions) and naganadel (for arguements' sake) with the ultrabeasts
And finally meltan – melmetal growing a close bond with Rowlett himself. It was introduced too late to have a proper rival as such but still had a decent development arc.

Comparing that with what's already happened and what is to come, basically all that we know about journeys:

It's very clear that korrina is returning to give ash's lucario a direct rival
Iris is returning for the dragonite engagement
Gary perhaps is returning to give gengar the star treatment
Of course Leon's Charizard will remain pikachu's ultimate goal
And finally rinto and that kalos elite 4 knighted member (from the special preview) ((yeah I'm real sucky at remembering names) for farfetchd.

I don't know how bea fits into this honestly. Maybe ash will finally catch rookidee and/or grookey and that will become the bea rivalry. But if lucario is going up against both bea as well as korrina, then I'm afraid this is gonna be ash greninja all over again. It's very clearly written all across every fan's face that this was one aspect of kalos that while being epic, was still a sad and deliberate mistake on the writers part for the kalos anime: not giving Pokemon like noivern, goodra and hell even talonflame, any significant personality or screen time for that matter. It was all aboutgreninja, Pikachu and hawlucha, in that order. I hope this doesn't happen again here in journeys; however epic an aura burst lucario may be, I think it will take of some shine from the eventual gigantamax Pikachu v Charizard.

Lastly,
I don't know the future, but from this episode, I feel that dracovish is not gonna see the light of day too much. Meaning that while he may have development over the course of the series, and may become a very strong member of Ash's team by the time the series ends, as of yet, there is no such indication. Maybe Gary will be interested in ash's fossil Pokemon for all we know.
(It's too early to tell dammit it's only been one episode since it's capture). But still I feel that since ash was really training all of his new Pokemon on the beginning, and that dracovish wasn't there, it's quite possible that dracovish is just some trophy Pokemon for ash (I detest that this thought even came to my mind, but oh well…). It might also be conversely true that it might some sort of a secret weapon that the writers might want to unleash on both ash's opponents as well as the show's fans.

Overall I loved this episode a whole damn much and I love you and your review series as always. ❤️❤️

Hey, there was a Pupatar in that flashback! I think that's the first Pupatar we've seen since the beginning of the Hoenn saga!

Rinto could be a potential new rival for ash, along with Bea?

I feel this episode was great for Farfetch'd. In fact I'm pretty happy they did this episode before Farfetch'd evolves as it shows why for whatever episode Farfetch'd does evolve like in the opening why it's getting stronger. I really hope that character who beat Ash returns too it'll be great. I agree with 9/10 for me especially with Farfetch'd winning a battle.

I hope that since the Pokemon World Championship is entering close to the higher tiers that we get more 2v2 and 3v3 battles, we only had 2 battles where it's been 2 v 2 and both were very underwhelming if you ask me

Maybe it might evolve after battling Wikstrom. Also, I had a feeling that Rinto might return. Above all, this episode was my favorite. It was ULTRA exciting. 9/10.

Am I the only ones who realized that Gardevoir and Gallade has insane dodging skills in the anime

Quality episode! So glad we got to see ducky get redemption. Loved the battles and concepts behind them. Hoping KAMOOOOON becomes one with himself and Ash to bring out the best before the evolution. Great review as always bro 👊🏼❤️

I'm definitely glad that Ash's Farfetch'd has some more direction now as a character, I can easily see Wikstrom being used as a chance to strengthen their bonds. Plus it gave us a really great battle, enjoyed it a lot, and you gave a fantastic review as usual
