  1. I suspected there would be even more mistakes in here that I didn't catch, and I was right! Gyarados Gaming pointed out that at 10:37, Nincada is listed as a Psychic type 😂

  2. "that white smudge around her name"

  3. 19:18 should be noted that pidjits name is based off of pigeon. Take off the D, and pigeot is just a typo!

  4. What an awful book

  5. Your Garry's biggest rival?

  6. I had the 3rd book

This is sooooo crazy! Lol! I actually still own the gen 1 Pokémon handbook but in Spanish which has even more mistakes and wrong information. The thing is (as far as I know) that these books were actually translated from Japanese by Americans, and in doing so; they would translate in a very literal way, meaning that the final product would be a result of what they thought the Japanese versions meant instead of what they ACTUALLY meant. So you can only imagine how wrong the Spanish version was, which was a mistaken translation of another mistaken translation lol 😂

One of mine said mew evolves into mewtwo

  9. I used the have the last one you looked at. And if i remember correctly on Reshiram’s page it said it weighed over 6k pounds!! Have no idea why it would say that, but unfortunately i can’t go back and check.

  10. i have a book about legendaries up to gen 7 that lists zekrom as dragon flying, but then talks about its electrical abilities

oh and has like 7, 2 page stories about just the anime

  11. I pronounced it Pijot growing up :/

  12. I never owned these books and I up until this year I honestly thought Wurmple evolved due to the time of day because I'm an idiot.
I think it was just hard luck that the 2 Wurmple I evolved in the day back in Gen III evolved into Silcoon/Beautifly and the 2 I evolved at night became Cascoon/Dustox so I just assumed that's how it was.

I only learn I was completely wrong when I started playing Legends and working on the dex there. I was confused why I was getting a Silcoon at night…

  13. My favourite element is ghost.

  14. Correction water is weak to grass not good against

  15. Ash fought Kogas daughter in the anime before he faced koga I don't remember what they named her since it was pre gen 2

  16. Ooh I love "medicharm he is so handsome"

  17. On the gen 1 handbook it says that Pidgeotto was pronounced "Pid Jyo Toe" WHAT!!

  18. The anime does have levels it says so in the episode called "The School Of Hard Knocks"

  19. deluxe isn't really
    one

  20. 15:20 Tibia honest, it disturbes me that Fire and Water are represented by Charmander and Squirtel but Grass is not represented by Bulbusaur ;_;

  21. I had the last book as a kid and distinctly remember remember the wormple split evolution quirk, cool to see that references in a video.

  22. This brings back memories

  23. Though the thing about the pokemon tournament in the anime and the elite four in the games being put together would be cool like only the best trainers at the tournament are allowed to challenge the elite four sounds pretty wicked

  25. I think it’s because his canonical name is gary

  26. Maybe he marked over the part about Gary catching over 200 Pokemon because it was gen 1 and there were only 151?

  27. Ah yes pid-jyo-toe my favorite pok-eemon pronunciation

  28. Now I just have to name my Pidgeot Pidget

  29. Jinin is sister of koga

  30. bro never knew nidoqueen evolved by moon stone in fact never knew nidoqueen evolved

  31. Ah, playing mock the flawed book I see

  32. The "Pid-jit" one, at least for me, is from Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew where I think someone pronounces it like that. Or Pidgeot itself cries its own name like that. So until fairly recently, that was how I pronounced it because of that. Hadn't watched a lot of the anime, and that was one of the few Pokémon DVDs I had as a kid, since my mum brought it back from Bali when she went on a trip there with our neighbour she was friends with across the road.

  33. 24:03: oh, they did. Look a couple centimeters below! Ghost is bad against Ghost!

  34. Something extra strange about the whole Gary thing in the first book is that by the time Ash had gotten to Hoenn, Gary had already retired as a trainer to become a researcher.

  35. 5:16 I spotted another oddity on these pages. On the left-hand page it refers to Hoenn's league the "Pokémon League", yet on the right-hand page where it shows the starters it says "Hoenn League".

18:56 Pidgeot's name is pronounced pid-jit in the original PokéRap, but I think that might have been an error because I've never heard it pronounced that way anywhere else. Maybe the author of the book took the pronunciations from the PokéRap and assumed they were correct?

23:59 It actually says that Gastly, Haunter and Gengar are bad against Ghost! I have this book but I never realised how wrong the type matchups were. I don't know why they didn't just include a type matchup chart at the beginning of the book instead.

  36. Venonat can't fly
