Today I’m going to try a run that I don’t think will be too hard. Farfetch‘d certainly isn’t the best Pokemon. However, it’s much better than the Pokemon I’ve been doing runs with lately. So let’s find out exactly how hard Pokemon Yellow is to beat with only a Farfetch‘d.

Don't feel bad for thinking Farfetch'd was a legendary Pokemon, I once used a Master Ball on Clefairy since I heard from everywhere (probably TV) that is was a super rare Pokemon.

The next run should be a Machop. Speaking of Machop, did you know Machop, Machoke and Machamp can't learn Drain Punch. Yet, frickin' ABRA can?! WTF??!!!

farfetchd may have decent stats compared to those weak first forms you've been using but for a pokemon that doesn't evolve it's absolute trash

Huh. Making sure you didn't level up in the Giovanni fight was important, but not for the reasons you thought it would be. (Actually, IIRC the badge boost glitch doesn't affect the stat that's actually being modified, so you aren't getting any extra attack boosts from Swords Dance. Those defense boosts were big though.)

Slash does not synergize well with Sword Dance. Pretty dead move.

In my experience Farfech'd is such a bad pokemon. It just doesn't do good damage, and doesn't have good HP
I like Farfetch'd, but just couldn't effectively use it as a kid. I love the use of swords dance enhanced by the badge boost glitch. I am very surprised all that critical hit bad luck didn't derail you in the E4 and champ. That's one tough little bird.

farfetch'd is my favorite underrated mon! I used ch'ding (the trade farfetch'd in vermilion) for both cut and fly when I played fire red as my first-ever pokemon game as a kid, so it was just always on my team. by the time we were late in the game and he'd gotten to a high level (helped by the trade exp boost), it was the strongest member of my team besides my starter. love that dude

Farf is one of the best from gen 1 and 2. My dude learns Fly and Cut. Always worth having around

another one of my favorites thats clearly weak fksdhfdks i have always wanted two things. for it to get the ability technician, which increases the power of weaker moves (i think 60 and under) so that would make Aerial Ace (and fury attack if you wanted) an AMAZING move, with STAB as well. i also wish it got a second evo WAY sooner, like gen 4 ish, it would have been a nice one to evo with a specific move i think.
i replay firered a lot, and usually end up grabbing the trade one. its never anything amazing but ive found some nice uses for it.
Toxic, Fly, Slash, Rest/Protect, i really like this set cause its annoying, lmao. Toxic + Fly/Dig are really nice imho, especially for pokemon that don't have a great movepool.
Swords Dance, Aerial Ace, Return, Steel Wing, for a more offensive set is always rad too.
Sand Attack, Knock Off/Thief, Protect, Toxic an annoyer.
Facade and Rest i feel like could be used well together on it too!

Farfetch'd is my favorite Gen1 pokemon, closely followed by Charizard. So, as a kid, I'd always end up only using those two. Did I beat the league like that though? Nope, I don't think so. I always fell against Lorelei and sometime between my tries, my save data corrupted. This continued to happen many times over the years and I lost so many Farfetch'd to that.
Still love the duck dearly though.

I’m currently replaying Pokémon Red and I made it mandatory to use the Leek Duck on my team. Yeah the Fearow I had was kinda better, BUT Dux’s movepool makes up for its average stats.
