I Bought A BRAND NEW and PRELOVED LOUIS VUITTON Handbag! Which Is BETTER?

The saga continues! Today I Bought A BRAND NEW and PRELOVED LOUIS VUITTON Handbag! Which Is BETTER? I hope you enjoy this completely unscientific experiment. Farfetch Vintage is very highly priced and I don’t think its where you buy preloved looking for a bargain however I love the ease of returns they offer! They don’t state on their website when an item was made though so you have to get it home and see, technically this handbag isn’t even considered really ‘vintage’. I also wish they showed more realistic photos that showed the wear and stated wear in the description. What do you think? Have you ever bought from Farfetch Vintage? If it was you would you buy a brand new Speedy (or another entry level bag similar) or go the preloved route? ♥

  1. I think the key is to do lots of research and comparing sites/prices when buying pre-loved. If the price difference isn’t that much for items like a speedy or neverfull which are always high on these sites- then new is the way to go. If you want a limited edition, or an out of production item, preloved is a great option. Seems like between this and the other video, aussies don’t have a lot of great options, which really stinks! Great vid 😘.

  2. I don't understand why Farfetch would charge that much or claim that a 2008 bag is vintage? Unless a piece truly is vintage and/or not possible to buy anymore it should cost quite a bit less than the new equivalent. This bag doesn't seem to be a good example of the treasures you can find on the pre-loved market.

  3. I’m not a fan of pre-loved, however I’m desperately wanting the Palm Springs mini , so I may have to go down that route 😩😩😩 Farfetch is a Pain in the ass for returns. I recently purchased a D&G gold purse from there , used it once and all the gold started to frey. Definitely not worth $2500, long story short and numerous emails later I ended up contacting D&G ITALY (where the bag was originally sent from) and they rectified the issue. Thank Goodness!!! Farfetch wasn’t the greatest shopping experience for me. I find the customer service slow and products are overpriced. But they do put on some great sales 😆😊

  4. They are classic not bandouliere. Lol
Uh I love your beat up bag haha I know I'm weird but I love how they look when they are loved buuuut with that beating said I like to do it myself rather than buy it that way too.

  5. That vintage bag was extremely overpriced tho lol hope you can return it

  6. This video doesn’t make any sense. Why pay more getting a preloved when you can buy a brand new one for a lot less? So confused!

  7. I like your videos but what was the point in this video? Why would you buy a used bag at near double the price? Badly planned video 👎

  8. I hope you can send it back for a full refund and not a credit note. 🤷‍♀️. I really have to calculate many things before I would consider buying pre-loved. Especially with exchange rates and shipping fees, customs and duty fees to consider. Most of the time it’s just not worth it. Love you girl! But nooooo!🥴

  9. Perhaps the overall premise is that be mindful when you buy preloved looking for bargain, because often times you won't find a bargain and instead of some ridiculous markup and its best to buy brand new.. im thinking.. Either way i hope you returned the pre-loved bag.. cuz girllll thats expensive..

  10. Interesting experiment. I would have thought to get a pre-loved/vintage one for slightly less and better condition to compare. It was good to know that Farfetch does vintage and also at such crazy prices. Thanks for reminder everyone to do research, especially buying preloved!

  11. I think this experiment would’ve worked better if you would’ve gone with fashionphile or something like that. Farfetch sells bags that are used for way more than retail. They had a preloved Chanel classic flap for like 6.5k US which is like what? 8 or 9k AUD. Fuckin insane. They are not who you go to for preloved. Only new.

  12. I've bought a few items preloved, generally either items that were no longer made aka the multicolor speedy and I did great with it off of reetzy facebook groups. I also bought lol an azure speedy 30 from facebook…actually did well with that one as well. I always authenticate before and verify again after that its the same bag and use paypal invoice. Now I did buy one out of another country from a facebook group that was to be honest in way worse shape than I thought. I didn't pay over retail but quite honestly learned I prefer new than used. It was a neverfull and pouch set, vachetta was WAY more used than disclosed. I kept and literally use the crap out of it and maybe down the road I'll just replace the vachetta. But for now….it's on the airplane, under the seat, stepped on…..lol

  13. why would you buy vintage from farfetch? it has to be the most expensive site for pre loved!

  14. How did you manage to find a vintage speedy for $3000? Feels like you deliberately brought the most expensive one to prove a point…

  15. Hope you can return

  16. Sweet baby Jesus and all the little donkeys! Someone is having a laugh somewhere. A new Speedy 25 retails at a little under $1,500 AUD, the Bandoulier at under $2k. The used one – sorry, preloved 🙄 – was double the amount for no reason because it ain’t vintage, it’s used! People buying these need t’give their head a wobble and shake some sense into it. Vintage items are items no longer available and go waaay back before the year 2000. Platform shoes from the 60s, a coat or dress from the 50s are vintage – a second hand, or possibly third hand, bag from 2008 is certainly not vintage, it’s simply a used bag.

  17. The speedy 25 isn’t a bandouliere, it’s a regular 🤓 but your 30 definitely is! I’m just curious are you going to return the one from Farfetch?

  18. I've bought preloved and new. I only by preloved if the item is in excellent condition and a lower price than retail; $500 or more savings. I also by preloved if its discontinued, but again I try not to pay over what the item costed before being discontinued. Resalers try to put huge markups on discontinued items

  19. You returned that bag back to farfetch right???

  20. They are not bando version! They‘re classic Speedy!!! 😓

  21. You spinning those scissors near your pretty face gave me anxiety!

Secondly – I couldn’t agree more! You’re video is spot on.

Also I noticed that The first two aren’t the bandouliere. They are the classic handheld speedy.

  22. OK I'm confused!

  23. Vintage are bags over 20yo. So the bag you bought its just old. Also you could find it for about half price of the new one. I m not sure what happened here in any way. Never seen a bag like that above retail…

  24. I got my Speedy 25 from Lux It Fwd for a fraction of retail, and it was pristine (and 20 years old)… $3,000 and it had marks and stuff? Yikes
