What a weird situation! I personally would take it to a repair specialist and put nylon on the two openings where the chains run through the piping.

Hi Dacob, the leather looks coated to get the vibrant colour and gloss. It should be used on a more structured bag type. The drawstring bag causes stretch and friction which literally breaks the coating.

Remember girl bag from chanel it’s have similar hobo style like 22 bag I dunno maybe The 22 bag will have similar faith like the girl bag.thats why I love classic flap ,2.55 and trendy cc also the gst bag tht already discontinued as they look so classic and timeless ❤

You love the bag – I say keep it, don't baby it and what happens, happens. The spots you are pointing out are super tiny and the only one who knows they are there is you. Yes, I agree that this is a lot of money and Chanel needs to do better. But this bag makes your heart sing so use her, give her a great life and accept her nicks and dings as proof of a life well lived.

I have a small 22 in dark metallic gray and when I bought her I had concerns about how the leather would wear and if the metallic finish would rub off over time, etc etc, but I loved it so much the second I saw it in the boutique and smooshed it in my hands for the first time, I knew she was coming home with me. I made the decision it was going to be an everyday bag for me and I wasn't going to baby her and that's what I've done.

Wear yours because it's a gorgeous color and she makes you happy. Don't return and exchange for something you don't like nearly as much.

This sucks so much. There's nothing more disappointing than when a brand you adore, and a piece you're in love with, lets you down. And not just once, but repeatedly! But you gotta return it. For the prices they demand, it's a disgrace that the quality is not there. Or that they did not perform the correct quality assurance tests. I feel like it's a big 'that'll do' from a brand which seems to have little respect/integrity for the discerning consumer more and more. Which kills me to say, because I'm a huge Chanel lover.

Dacob, what if you would exchange the chain strap, as beautiful as it is, with a only leather strap? Kind of rolled? Just thinking. Probably one can´t get it in the same colour, but possibly in gold leather, matching the letters? Or taking the leather out of the chains? That way you would have a matching leather strap AND another Original Chanel necklace (or belt, or … )? My second thought: If you love the bag so, so much, why don´t you frame it? In something like a shadow box or a deep , maybe antique frame? It became a true work of art, hanging on your wall. So you could watch it and it will not get further damage. A painting does not has to have any benefit either, the "only" idea is just to look wonderful in your home. So what? Please do not think I was rude or something like that, I mean that completely serious. Sorry for my clumsy English, I hope I could express what I mean anyway. xx and love!

omg I haven't been on here forever!! I can't believe it broke in one day, why is Chanel doing this to us!!! I was debating on buying a new Chanel but I have no heard good things about the quality. So I opted for a special made Gucci but it's not going to arrive until January 🙁

This is a bag you want to use and enjoy, not archive. You’ve used it for 30 minutes and look how it’s deteriorated; consider what it may look like after a week, month or year?

Personally, I would take the bag to the cobbler so he can physically see the bag to form an opinion.

I think it’s terrible this has happened to you, looking forward to Chanel’s response. This is clearly a manufacturing flaw and they should take responsibility and recall this style like other companies do.

Chanel is trying to move on from middle class regular folks to super rich where woman have over hundred of bags and every one bag will be used for one or twice hence no matter what kind of design it is churning out it won’t affect becuz longentivity and sustainability are not in the mind of their new target customers ~~~ I’m now fully stick with H and hoping it would maintain its standard but sad to know it’s going to open two more factories to cater for demand, finger cross on H’s quality
