Yes, I bought most of Violette_fr’s new makeup line. Yes, I tried it a lot before this review. No, I’m not effortlessly French. *le sigh* I’m sorry I don’t do a better job with this collection, but I have a lot of THOUGHTS.

This is definitely how I felt the first time I was using her yeux paint and the petal bouche!! I found with yeux paint i just need to put a dot if I'm using the matte, blend with my finger or a brush, and the blue one is perfect for dramatic smokey eyes or like a cat eye. The petal bouche's pigment is the only red I found that complements my skin tone, so super happy with that, however it does start getting flaky after a while. It kind of wasn't worth it to me… I hope she makes it as a regular lipstick or stain. Overall, I personally found the yeux matte paint the most worthwhile purchase out of the entire line since I never have time to put on a full face of make up.
OMG someone who feels the same way about trying to do liquid eyeliner as I do. It requires far too much concentration, is stressful trying to get both sides looking the exact same as mistakes in liquid eyeliner are more visible than eyeshadow mistakes, then after all that effort you realise it doesn't enhance the eyeshadow look you created, rather it takes complete attention away from the eyeshadow or even ruins the eye look completely. All that effort with zero pay-off. That's why I just use pencil eyeliners instead now very subtly.
The blue liquid eyeliner makes a quick eyeliner with the finger. It only takes a small bit close to the outer eyes plus it brings out my brown eyes!
Also the liquid lipstick as a blush only requires a small bit if placed on a smooth surface and using a brush to place it on!
This is my first video of yours I’ve watched. And yes, I like Violette; but I agree with your review. I’m not even into the eye colours, really. Your review, though, was hilarious!! I felt that lmao 👏
I adore Violette. Total girl crush and she is an amazing makeup artist. The only thing I bought (on the first day) was the highlighter, because she always emphasizes highlighter in her videos ("glowy"). I was really unimpressed with it. I am older, don't go for bling in any way, but I can barely see it. It's more like a little bit of shine, like oily face shine. I was especially bummed about it because she had a teaser preview video a few weeks before the release where she used a special heliographic powder to do a highlight and said, "don't worry guys, I've got you covered". Sadly not the case. I still love her and hope that younger women will buy the hell out of her line.
Those colors are not for you, they are too orange, you are too pale for that color and its not for the entire eyelid
this looks like a cat in a bag gimmick…messy, cheap and totally not worth the price bsht the "french" way….she could sell shit and people would buy, because its not about uniqueness or amazing quality, but the part of a dream she represents people want to be a part of…
Actually, though, those colors on your eyes bring out a pretty hazel color in your eyes.
Do you know any dupes for petal bouche?
I honestly wouldn't apply any one single color, especially one that is orange or pink, which can literally make you look ill, all over the entire eyelid up to the brow bone. And then paring it with a cheek and lip in the same color family as well is just over load. I agree with others here that these products might be more stand alone in their use.
Violette knows what looks good on herself and others. She was an art student. You habe to know what looks good on you and have the inner attitude to pull off something less than subtle. Ladies with pale skim and muted hair cor need to see a good hairstylist before they try make up.
She is also very elegant.
educate yourself before covering a topic. I couldn’t watch this too misleading
Think you look good!
I think your trying to use the products in an American way, when they we’re designed quite the opposite. I don’t even know if that makes sense. Violettes and your style/technique are also very different. Different is good, they just might not be for you.
To be honest, you look amazing in bold lip! It’s so beautiful, and your eyes are not small at all! The red lip makes your whole complexion brightens up! 👍🏻
it can also be seen from your face that you are an envious person
I agree that the stress and effort involved is quite uncomfortable but I really love the end result … you do look great with this red lip and very violette like 😍
as a lover of red lipstick, I must say this looks beautiful on you! when I apply it, to me it appears a darker shade which is not my preference. I also enjoy red with a minimal eye. I like making either the eyes or lips the focal point & I do love a glowy soft cheek. yours is perfect!
An excellent, honest and well optioned review ~ I’m a V_fr fan + your presentation wasn’t at all upsetting, just transparent.
I’m going in for the Petal Bouche, it does actually look fantastic on you as a non-red wearer ~ that’s a great review in itself!
… je m'abonne! 😉♥️
Wow…You say ”french girl effortless” with such dispice. When was pigmented products a problem? You actually look gordeous with her make up on. Maybe try the thought that sometimes less is more if you feel overwhelmed. Like we do in Europe.
Glad to see im not the only one with red lip application and maintenance anxiety.
I ended up here because that Violette cheek highlighter thing intrigued me from Ali Andreea.
Then I saw your MORE BLUSH hoodie.
Omg, I MUST have it! 😍 I am so very pale…I love that blush palette you flashed also. Wow!
Thank You for this video. That eye was a lot more bold than I would ever attempt. *but I am much older than you
Thanks for the laugh about real time dark red lip application. 😄 I love a strong red lip but as an older woman I avoid it now so as to not to look like a marionette clown
PS) What is the size of the Merit highlighter balm? (It's $30.00)
red highly pigmented lipstick/lipstain is VERY VERY hard to put on. I wear red lipstick neutral bright to blue-red (tiny bit)
New viewer here! This video was recommended to me and I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your personality 🙂 This was a great review x
Thanks for the review! One thought – "Rose" is French for "pink." I think your idea that is rose-colored was a mistranslation. <3
Love love love the red lipstick, the colour and matte, blurred effect are amazing. But SOOOOO difficult to apply, by god! The applicator is soooo mucky and gross looking. It's taken me a whole year to figure out how to do it properly 😜
the colors look very sophisticated on you- I do the red lip a bit smudgy, never tried a straight line, the eye applicators for me are difficult to use, I try using my fingers then I use oil to remove the stains
Hear me out: too pigmented and it goes everywhere, is #1 an opinion #2 dependant on how you apply, and also how full your lips are. I'm really just saying, bruh.
You’ve sold me on her products! I can’t wait to purchase them. Thanks
You talk a lot….
"Don't hate me" but it is kind of annoying how you're outright condescending right from the start as opposed to just giving a more well rounded review. First of all, mocking the French Language as if it's one that is so unfeasible to pronounce – the only reason why it sounds so awful when you pronounce the names of the lipsticks is because you decided to make it sound awful. Also describing Violette's biography in such a loose way – sorry there's a million things you could look up to her for – especially as you are a rookie in tbe same industry as her. Also just because something isn't your style or your color because it flat out won't suit YOUR face that doesn't mean it's a bad product. This is distasteful as a review.
I know you’re not feeling it, but you do look stunning in a red lip.
